Ghostly Footsteps

Ghostly Footsteps

He was carrying the small bottle with care,

With the charm that had affected his daughter,

The bomoh had told him to break the curse

By throwing the bottle in running water;

As he was walking to a nearby river,

He heard footsteps steady and grim,

He'd been told on no account to look back

Or the charm would be transferred to him;

So with the fear pounding in his heart,

He walked more briskly in that early morn,

Til he managed to throw the bottle in the water,

And then the ghostly footsteps were gone.
