The scattered lamps and lanterns of orange and white, Glowed steadily from the boats on the open sea, And some horizon lights were twinkling very bright, They were stretched across as far as the eyes could
see.
The sea and the beach were a quiet asphalt grey, The sky was dark and lonely and the heavens black, A strong breeze swept coolly inwards towards the
shore, Over trees and houses and never heading back.
I watched the distant lights and listened to the wind, And I allowed my thoughts to freely roam at will, I thought of us and all the moments we have had, Dare I hope in future we'll be together still?
