A Drowsy Afternoon
Airy kisses brush my face,
Breezy fingers ruffling my hair,
The sweetness of fragrant flowers
Fills the sleepy afternoon air.
Wispy cottoned clouds floating
Across the drowsy sunlit sky,
Whispers of softly rustling leaves
Branches swaying closely by.
Cool fresh grass beneath my back,
No weary noises that I can hear,
I can lay me down to sleep
With birds chirping somewhere near.
